Get the most out of your visit to Athens by combining both ancient and modern in this guided tour. Leaving Piraeus port behind, your coach will drive down the coast past scenic marinas before joining the highway leading to the city. Our Athens city drive will cover the main points of interest - as our guide offers interesting commentary. From the comfort of our coach, we will see Hadrian's Arch marking the edge of the ancient city, the colossal pillars of the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Constitution Square, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the National Gardens, the Presidential Residence and the Athens Olympic Stadium or “kallimarmaron”, meaning beautifully marbled site, of the first Olympic Games. The buildings are a striking vision and bring to mind such great names as Socrates, Pericles and Aristides. The guided coach tour makes a stop at the foot of the magnificent Acropolis, the greatest architectural and artistic complex bequeathed to the world by Greek antiquity. The panoramic view of the city from this vantage point offers excellent photographic opportunities. Note: as entrance fees to the Acropolis are not included in the tour, in case you wish to visit to the Acropolis on your own you are welcome to do so, making your own way back to the ship.
