On Kos, the birthplace of Hippocrates, the father of Medicine, the first stop will be the Asklepieion, the oldest and most famous archaeological site on the island. The guided tour of this famous centre of healing in the ancient world will provide an in-depth account of this remarkable site. Then on to Zia, a small traditional mountain village, from where you can admire a panoramic view of the Aegean Sea and the islands of Kalymnos and Pserimos. The village is an arts and craft centre and it has many small shops, where you can also find the famous local thyme and honey. At Kamari, Captain Yiannis and his crew will sail us away to the lovely bay of “Kefalos” with a traditional Greek “kaiki”. Here, once the kaiki docks, we will have free time enjoying the beach, swimming and snorkelling while our BBQ lunch will be prepared for us. On the way back to the port we will make a short stop at Antimachia, a village located in the middle of the island, to visit a traditional 200 year old windmill. Of all the windmills on Kos, this is the last operational mill left, showing the agricultural past of the island.
