Seattle, Washington

United States
Day 1

Seattle is a scenic seaport city in western Washington, situated on an isthmus between Puget Sound to the west and Lake Washington to the east. It is the largest city in Washington. Five pioneer families from Illinois first settled the area in 1851, and named the town after a friendly Suquamish Indian chief. It was incorporated as a city in 1869, and grew quickly after the Great Northern Railway arrived in 1893, especially during the Alaska Gold Rush of 1897. When the Panama Canal opened in 1914, Seattle became a major Pacific port of entry, and today it is the region's commercial and transportation hub and the centre of manufacturing, trade, and finance, with an estimated 684,451 residents as of 2015.

Chops Grille℠

CLASSIC AMERICAN STEAKHOUSE

For more than a decade, the chefs at Chops Grille have specialised in serving up quality, hand-cut meat. Dinner at this hallmark Royal Caribbean speciality restaurant goes far beyond the typical steakhouse experience, though, with reimagined classics like succulent Maine lobster, gruyere cheese potato croquettes, white truffle-scented mushroom soup and of course, expertly prepared prime beef.

Smart Casual

INSIDER TIP

Open for lunch on sea days only.

MENU HIGHLIGHTS

The best way to begin a meal at Chops Grille is with the charred beef carpaccio, sliced thin and served rare with fresh rocket, Parmesan cheese and truffle mustard dressing. If you’re a seafood lover, upgrade your menu with one of the restaurant’s chilled seafood towers – each comes with jumbo prawns, green-lipped mussels, clams, Jonah crab claws and Maine lobster. As far as mains go, the tender filet is one of the most popular items on the menu. If 255 g is a bit too much for you, opt for the smaller 170 g petite filet – it packs in just as much flavour as the standard cut. If you’re a traditionalist, complement your meal with an order of steaming Yukon Gold mashed potatoes and creamed spinach, or change things up with Chops’ signature gruyere cheese potato croquettes and truffled French fries. And don’t forget to save room for a refreshing slice of tart key lime meringue pie or classic New York cheesecake, served with raspberries and lemon confit.

PRO TIP

The chefs at Chops Grille will hand cut, season and grill each steak to your specifications. When in doubt, don’t be afraid to ask for the chef’s recommendation.

MENU HIGHLIGHTS

Great apps are guaranteed when you dine at Jamie’s Italian. The creamy burrata is a no-brainer – it comes garnished with slow-roasted tomato, carta di musica bread and rocket. And you definitely can’t miss the ultimate garlic bread – warm artisan buttermilk buns served with herby garlic butter, veggie Parmesan and rosemary. If you like truffle, try the homemade truffle tagliatelle, served in rich a truffle cream with a hint of nutmeg. Or satisfy your craving for seafood with Jamie’s famous prawn linguini, tossed with garlicky prawns, vine-ripe tomatoes, shaved fennel, saffron, chiLli and rocket. Another fan-favourite is the chianti-braised short rib. It’s cooked slow and low to perfection and served with Parmesan mash and horseradish gremolata.
