Before you cruise with Carnival
Here's some useful information before you set sail on your Carnival cruise.
Frequently Asked Questions
Carnival requires online check-in to be completed within 14 days prior to sailing and no later than midnight (eastern time) prior to the sailing date. You can use the app by downloading it here or by visiting the Manage My Booking page on their website.
The online check-in process is very easy. Simply, create an account if you have not done so already. You will need to provide your Carnival booking number (or cabin level booking number for Group guests-IBR), guest last name, date of birth, ship name and sail date.
Log in with your email address or username and password.
From the ‘To Do List’, select 'Online Check-In' and complete the following necessary information: Guest Information, Travel Documentation, Travel Plans, Arrival Appointment, Onboard Expense Account, Cruise Preferences and finally accept the Cruise Ticket Contract.
Select 'View/Print Documents' or 'Get Documents for Stateroom' (check all boxes).
From here, you may print your boarding pass and luggage tags.
You can print your boarding pass if your booking is paid in full and Online Check-in is complete.
Make sure you download the FunHub app, as you will able to plan ahead for your cruise, and it will be very useful while onboard. You can explore all the possibilities of the app and download it here.
Passports are required for all cruises. Please check that your passport has at least 6 months validity from the return date of your trip. If you or any member of your party is not a British citizen or holds a non-British passport, you must check passport and visa requirements with the Embassy or Consulate of the country(ies) to or through which you are intending to travel. Please always refer to the Foreign Travel Advice by Gov.uk here.
While it is not a a condition of booking that all guests hold fully comprehensive travel insurance that specifically covers cruise holidays, it is strongly recommended that Guests hold adequate cover due to the potential for unexpected events before, during, and after a cruise. Cover must be valid for the entire duration of your chosen itinerary, provides full health coverage for all pre-existing conditions and the costs of medical repatriations, plus specific cover for covid-19 related issues. It should also include Personal Luggage insurance since there is limited liability for loss or damage. Please refer to our trusted partner Just Travel Cover who offer comprehensive cover options from multiple insurers, have no upper age limit, and cover for hundreds of pre-existing medical conditions.
Each stateroom has one electric outlet located at the vanity. This outlet is equipped with a 3-prong 110 volt (North America Grounded) and a 220 volt (Europe German style). On the Carnival Celebration, Carnival Jubilee and Mardi Gras, there are three outlets located at the desk. The following ships also feature USB-A ports (5 volt, 1000mA) in all staterooms: Carnival Celebration, Carnival Encounter, Carnival Firenze, Carnival Glory, Carnival Horizon, Carnival Jubilee, Carnival Legend, Carnival Panorama, Carnival Spirit, Carnival Splendor, Carnival Sunrise, Carnival Venezia, Carnival Vista, Mardi Gras. On Carnival Adventure you’ll find USB-A ports in interior staterooms only, and on Carnival radiance, in Deck 3 and 5 staterooms only.
On ships sailing from Australia, the staterooms are fitted with a standard Australian 3-point plug as well as a 3-prong 110 volt (North America Grounded); adaptors providing 220/240 volt 60Hz are available upon request.
The outlet in the bathroom can only be used for electric razors.
Power strips, multi plug box outlets/adaptors and extension cords (without surge protectors) are allowed on board when used with proper caution. However, banned electrical devices or devices determined to pose a safety hazard, will be confiscated and returned the last day of the cruise prior to debark.
Carnival cruises are characterized by a casual atmosphere. For the ladies, long skirts and trousers, dresses and tops are recommended, while for the gents shorts, polo shirts and t-shirts. For the meals, something more elegant would be appropriate. Cardigans and blazers are always very useful.
On most of the evenings, the dress code will be casual (Cruise Casual).
But there will be one or two evenings during your Carnival cruise, where you´ll have the opportunity to present your elegant apparel (Cruise Elegant). For those who want to dress more casual on these evenings, the Buffet Restaurant on the Lido deck with its relaxed atmosphere is an appropriate alternative.

Note that gratuities do not apply to children under the age of 2 at the time of sailing.
Gratuities are not included in your cruise fare, however you can either pre-pay them by contacting us. Otherwise, the recommended, per person, amount will be posted to your Sail & Sign account on the second to last day of the cruise and will be settled with the rest of your onboard account.
Additionally, an 18% service charge will be added to beverage purchases, as well as to the reservation fee the Chef’s Table and Bonsai Teppanyaki as well as the nominal à la carte fee at Bonsai Sushi, Emeril’s Bistro, Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse | Brewhouse and Seafood Shack; additional gratuities can be added at the guest's discretion.
Carnival Cruise Line caters to a variety of dietary needs, including vegetarian, low-cholesterol, low-fat, low-carbohydrate, low-sugar, and gluten-free options. Guests can also request vegetarian or non-vegetarian Indian meals.
