Before you cruise with Celebrity
Here's some useful information before you set sail on your Celebrity cruise.
Frequently Asked Questions
Online Check-in for your upcoming Celebrity cruise is available 45 days before your cruise and remains available up to 3 days before you cruise.
You can complete this on their website or via the Celebrity app. After you've checked-in, you can access your boarding pass, complete a required health questionnaire, and begin the required safety briefing within the app. You'll also be able to pre-book and manage your onboard experiences.
Passports are required for all cruises. Please check that your passport has at least 6 months validity from the return date of your trip. If you or any member of your party is not a British citizen or holds a non-British passport, you must check passport and visa requirements with the Embassy or Consulate of the country(ies) to or through which you are intending to travel. Please always refer to the Foreign Travel Advice by Gov.uk here.
While it is not a a condition of booking that all guests hold fully comprehensive travel insurance that specifically covers cruise holidays, it is strongly recommended that Guests hold adequate cover due to the potential for unexpected events before, during, and after a cruise. Cover must be valid for the entire duration of your chosen itinerary, provides full health coverage for all pre-existing conditions and the costs of medical repatriations, plus specific cover for covid-19 related issues. It should also include Personal Luggage insurance since there is limited liability for loss or damage. Please refer to our trusted partner Just Travel Cover who offer comprehensive cover options from multiple insurers, have no upper age limit, and cover for hundreds of pre-existing medical conditions.
Celebrity Cruises cabins typically offer a combination of US and European plug sockets, with at least one of each available in each cabin. Some ships, like the Celebrity Reflection, Apex, and Edge, also feature USB plug sockets.
Celebrity Cruises has a relaxed dress code, focusing on "Smart Casual" and "Evening Chic" rather than formal attire. While there's no requirement for tuxedos or ball gowns, guests are encouraged to dress in a stylish and elevated manner, particularly for evenings in the main dining room, specialty restaurants, and theater.
There is no limit or restriction, however, Celebrity recommends each guest carries a reasonable amount of personal property and limits the number of pieces they bring.
Celebrity Cruises automatically adds gratuities to guests' SeaPass accounts. For most staterooms (Inside, Ocean View, and Veranda), the daily gratuity is $18.00 per person. Concierge Class and AquaClass staterooms have a daily gratuity of $18.50 per person, while those in The Retreat pay $23.00 per person per day. These gratuities are shared among various onboard staff, including dining, bar, culinary, stateroom, and other hotel services teams. Additionally, a 20% gratuity is added to beverage purchases, mini-bar items, and beverage packages.
Celebrity Cruises offers a variety of dietary accommodations for guests with specific needs, including options for vegetarians, those with allergies, and those following low-sugar, low-fat, or low-carbohydrate diets. They also provide options for lactose-free, gluten-free, and other specific dietary requirements. Once you've booked you'll need to fill out a special needs form as soon as possible in order to allow time for the cruise line to make the necessary arrangements.
