Frequently Asked Questions
As soon as you have booked your Cunard cruise, you'll be able to manage your booking in My Cunard. Here you can check-in online and, from up to a year before your sailing date, you can enhance your cruise with shore experiences, onboard activities and much more. Tickets will become available 30 days prior to departure. Passports are required for all cruises. Please check that your passport has at least 6 months validity from the return date of your trip. If you or any member of your party is not a British citizen or holds a non-British passport, you must check passport and visa requirements with the Embassy or Consulate of the country(ies) to or through which you are intending to travel. Please always refer to the Foreign Travel Advice by Gov.uk here.
It is a condition of booking that all guests hold fully comprehensive travel insurance that specifically covers cruise holidays, is valid for the entire duration of your chosen itinerary, provides full health coverage for all pre-existing conditions and the costs of medical repatriations, plus specific cover for covid-19 related issues. It should also include Personal Luggage insurance since there is limited liability for loss or damage. Please refer to our trusted partner Just Travel Cover who offer comprehensive cover options from multiple insurers, have no upper age limit, and cover for hundreds of pre-existing medical conditions. Failure to confirm or provide proof of insurance may result in denial of boarding at the Guest's own expense.

Cunard has a dress code that varies between daytime and evening, with a focus on smart attire during the day and a combination of smart and formal wear in the evenings. Formal attire, including tuxedos or suits for men and evening gowns or cocktail dresses for women, is expected on Gala evenings, while other evenings typically require smart casual wear. Smart attire includes cocktail dresses, elegant separates (skirts or trousers with stylish tops), or smart trouser suits for women, and collared shirts and trousers for men.
While formalwear isn't compulsory every night, Cunard encourages dressing smartly for the formal dining restaurants, and smart-casual for other venues.
Jeans, shorts, sportswear, and sleeveless t-shirts are generally not permitted in the evenings, particularly in restaurants and bars.
Cunard does not impose any luggage restrictions, beyond asking you to keep each case below 23kg for health and safety reasons. Keep in mind however that your luggage will need to be stored in your suite or stateroom for the duration of your cruise. While there is adequate space in your cabin, for example under the bed, it's something to factor in when deciding how much luggage you plan to bring.
Note that if you’re flying in to meet your ship in port or flying home at the end of your voyage, you will need to comply with your airline’s allowances for hold and cabin luggage.
If you’re arriving by coach, booked via Cunard's Cruise Connect service, you can bring three medium-sized suitcases, each weighing no more than 23kg, and one small piece of hand luggage with you.
Cunard automatically adds a daily service charge to guest accounts to cover hotel and dining services. This charge varies based on accommodation type: $17 per person per day for Britannia staterooms and $19 per person per day for Queens and Princess Grill Suites. Additionally, a 15% gratuity is automatically added to beverage orders and salon services. All the above are charged on your onboard account to be settled towards the end of your cruise.
If you book a voyage with the Cunard Fare, you can, subject to availability, choose complimentary car parking as your additional benefit.
