Before you cruise with Oceania

Here's some useful information before you set sail on your Oceania cruise.

Frequently Asked Questions

Oceania Cruises guests can complete their online check-in 21 days prior to embarkation. This process allows guests to pre-register personal information, emergency contacts, payment details, and upload a photo. It also allows guests to select a preferred boarding time and view a muster drill video. To access it, click here, sign in or create an account if you don't have one already, find your booking and follow the instructions.

Passports are required for all cruises. Please check that your passport has at least 6 months validity from the return date of your trip. If you or any member of your party is not a British citizen or holds a non-British passport, you must check passport and visa requirements with the Embassy or Consulate of the country(ies) to or through which you are intending to travel. Please always refer to the Foreign Travel Advice by Gov.uk here.

While it is not a a condition of booking that all guests hold fully comprehensive travel insurance that specifically covers cruise holidays, it is strongly recommended that Guests hold adequate cover due to the potential for unexpected events before, during, and after a cruise. Cover must be valid for the entire duration of your chosen itinerary, provides full health coverage for all pre-existing conditions and the costs of medical repatriations, plus specific cover for covid-19 related issues. It should also include Personal Luggage insurance since there is limited liability for loss or damage. Please refer to our trusted partner Just Travel Cover who offer comprehensive cover options from multiple insurers, have no upper age limit, and cover for hundreds of pre-existing medical conditions.

Oceania Cruises staterooms typically have both US 110V and European 220V outlets, as well as USB ports in most staterooms. The specific number and location of outlets may vary slightly by ship and cabin type, but generally, you'll find them near the desk and bedside.

Oceania Cruises generally recommends a "resort or country club casual" dress code, transitioning to "elegant casual resort wear" in the evenings for dining. While there are no formal nights, flip-flops and athletic shoes are not allowed in the main dining room or specialty restaurants after 6 PM, the overall atmosphere is relaxed and upscale.

A snapshot of Oceania's refreshed dress code:

Daytime Attire

Think breezy and polished. Sundresses, tailored shorts, polos, and lightweight chinos are perfect. Swimwear is for the pool only – please wear a cover-up when heading to dining areas.

Evening Attire

Refined yet relaxed.

• Ladies: Dresses, jumpsuits, elegant separates, fashionable jeans, and dressy sandals or trainers

• Gentlemen: Collared shirts, knit tops, dressy jeans or trousers, loafers or smart trainers (Note: Shorts and t-shirts are reserved for the Terrace Café and Waves Grill during the evening)

A Few Friendly Reminders

• Robes and slippers are for in-room use only

• No baseball caps in fine dining venues at dinner

• Flip-flops and athletic shoes are not permitted in restaurants/public areas after 6 pm

• Distressed denim is not considered appropriate for evening wear

Oceania Cruises has no specific limit on the number of luggage pieces guests can bring, as long as it can be stored in the stateroom, typically under the bed or in the closet. However, guests should be mindful of airline luggage restrictions and ensure their luggage does not exceed 70 lbs (31 kg) per piece.

Special arrangements can be made if you require diabetic, gluten-free, lactose-free, kosher, vegetarian and vegan meals. Other diets must be requested for approval well in advance and, in some cases, may require additional medical documentation.
