Frequently Asked Questions

Once you book your Princess cruise, you'll need to complete the required online check-in process via the Princess Cruises App. If you do not have a compatible Android or iOS device, you can also use the web version.

Typically the online check-in opens 60 days prior to the sailing date and must be completed no later that 24 hours before embarkation.

Once you've checked-in, you'll also want to access the personaliser in order to pre-book experiences onboard.

Passports are required for all cruises. Please check that your passport has at least 6 months validity from the return date of your trip. If you or any member of your party is not a British citizen or holds a non-British passport, you must check passport and visa requirements with the Embassy or Consulate of the country(ies) to or through which you are intending to travel. Please always refer to the Foreign Travel Advice by Gov.uk here.

While it is not a a condition of booking that all guests hold fully comprehensive travel insurance that specifically covers cruise holidays, it is strongly recommended that Guests hold adequate cover due to the potential for unexpected events before, during, and after a cruise. Cover must be valid for the entire duration of your chosen itinerary, provides full health coverage for all pre-existing conditions and the costs of medical repatriations, plus specific cover for covid-19 related issues. It should also include Personal Luggage insurance since there is limited liability for loss or damage. Please refer to our trusted partner Just Travel Cover who offer comprehensive cover options from multiple insurers, have no upper age limit, and cover for hundreds of pre-existing medical conditions.

Princess Cruises staterooms typically have two US plug sockets (110V, 60Hz) available at the desk area. Some ships like Regal, Royal, Enchanted, Sky, and Discovery Princess also offer an additional European socket. Sky, Majestic, and Enchanted Princess provide USB sockets as well.

Princess Cruises generally follows a smart casual dress code, with some formal nights depending on the length of the cruise. During the day, casual wear like shorts and t-shirts are acceptable, including in the dining room. For evenings and dinners, smart casual attire is recommended, while formal nights may be included on longer cruise.

Princess Cruises doesn't have strict limits on the number of checked bags, but they do have recommendations and guidelines. Each bag should be under 70 lbs (approximately 32 kg) for easy handling by the crew. While there's no limit to the total number of bags, they should be manageable for your cabin space. It's also recommended to pack essentials like medications, travel documents, and a change of clothes in a carry-on bag.

If you've booked the "Princess Plus" or "Princess Premier" fare, you're gratuities are included in your cruise fare.

If you haven't, Princess Cruises will automatically add gratuities to your onboard account to be settled shortly before disembarking. The daily amount varies by stateroom type: $17 per person for interior, oceanview, and balcony rooms, $18 for mini-suites, cabanas, and Reserve Collection, and $19 for suites.

Princess Cruises can accommodate various dietary restrictions and allergies. Guests can inform the cruise line of their needs through the Cruise Personalizer or app. It is also recommended to speak with the head waiter in the Main Dining Room (MDR) upon boarding to confirm and further discuss specific needs. Any other specific dietary needs, such as kosher, low-sodium, low-fat, or low-sugar, can also be accommodated, and should be communicated to Princess well in advance.
